I don’t specialise in proofreading. However, if you’d like a professional editor to take a final look at the copy once I’m done writing, then I can either include professional proofreading as a final step in your quotation or refer you to the editors that I use. They are masters at proofreading digital and print copy.
Professional proofreading is the last stage of editing and will cost extra. Not a fortune if your project isn't massive. I recommend only doing the professional proofing once you’ve decided that “Yes! I absolutely love what Rhonda has written. Now, let’s proofread it so we can use it!”
Proofreading involves the editor checking for things like:
- typographical errors
- spelling errors
- misplaced punctuation
- missing text
- consistency in style and formatting
They can work with your styleguide or create one for you to follow.
They usually request a sample of the work so they can give you a quote.
